CBFC vs 'Udta Punjab' Latest Updates - Bombay High Court Clears The Film With Just 1 Cut

'Udta Punjab' makers won their battle with Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) as the Bombay High Court dismissed CBFC's plea of 13 cuts and cleared the film with only 1 cut.

According to Bombay HC, 'Udta Punjab' does not encourage drug addiction and neither the film has been made with Punjab polls in mind. Also, the court stated that the film does not defame Punjab.

'Udta Punjab' will be released with a disclaimer.

The one cut that Bombay HC upheld is the one in which Shahid Kapoor's character Tommy Singh is urinating in front of a crowd.

Bombay HC orders the CBFC to issue a fresh 'A' certificate to 'Udta Punjab' within 48 hours.

With the Bombay HC ruling in its favour, 'Udta Punjab' filmmakers can now release the film on 17th June, 2016 as planned earlier.
